IGPN Training on Female Leadership

In January 28-29, 2011 IGPN organized training for women community leaders from Kyrgystan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan.
The training provided theoretical knowledge to identify obstacles of structural inequality in society which negatively affects the establishment of women’s leadership in patriarchal society. Experienced trainers on this topic from IGPN member organization in Lithuania (Center for Equality Advancement) introduced to participants different strategies how to overcome the difficulties in developing women’s leadership. The training also developed milieu for exchange of know-how experiences on building leadership skills in different contexts, the participants shared ideas on cultural obstacles to overcome structural inequalities and created an informal network of women leaders in Central Asia.
